For adoptive families, Mother’s Day is not as simple as a Hallmark card. We have “forever moms” and “heart moms,” but we also have birth moms. They don’t often get the shout-outs they deserve — especially on this day so weighted with meaning. But without birth mothers and their eternal love for their children, adoptions can’t happen. Let’s acknowledge them and their commitment to the wellbeing and happiness of their children and yours. I am forever grateful to the birth mom who enabled us to become a family of three. Her choice changed my life.
So to ALL the moms out there, Happy Mother’s Day!
